Graves’ disease

Graves’ disease is a type of hyperthyroidism, and is triggered by the immune system producing antibodies that stimulate the thyroid gland to increase in size and produce excessive quantities of thyroid hormone.

Treatments for Graves’ disease include, anti-thyroid medications, radioactive iodine and surgery.
