Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit The Australian Thyroid Foundation (ATF) website.

The ATF is honoured and privileged to have Professor Creswell Eastman AM as patron and principal medical advisor along with chief medical advisors Professor Bruce Robinson and Professor Leigh Delbridge. Our medical advisors have all devoted their life’s work to thyroid disorders, to improve outcomes for thyroid patients and Australians alike. Researching new techniques, treatments and iodine deficiency has improved the health of thyroid patients Australia wide.

I am as passionate today, as I was when I became President in 1999. Leading the ATF’s Board and Working Committee has given me the opportunity to work alongside other dedicated members who volunteer their time to upgrade member services, raise awareness of iodine deficiency and thyroid disorders and ensures the ATF’s growth as the australian consumer advocacy organisation for thyroid disorders and iodine deficiency continues into the future.

I have had the opportunity during the years as President, to represent The ATF at thyroid medical conferences, here in Australia and around the world. Meeting doctors and researchers who devote their life’s work to improving treatments, medications and outcomes for thyroid patients has been a wonderful learning experience and most enlightening. Passing on medical research outcomes to our members, ensures they have the most up to date information available.

The ATF is a member of Thyroid Federation International (TFI), a world-wide thyroid patient organisation dedicated to global action of thyroid related issues. The ATF is also a proud member of The Association of Genetic Support of Australasia.

If you or your family have been affected by some form of thyroid disorder, I encourage you to become a member of The ATF. Having access to the ATF’s member services and support will empower you to make the right decisions to ensure Good Thyroid Health.

The ATF needs your membership to educate and support you and many other Australians affected with thyroid disorders and to raise awareness in the community.

Thank you for your support,
Beverley Garside
