The Australian Thyroid Foundation (ATF) is a member-based organisation, with membership fees and donations used to support and educate members with the most up-to-date, research, treatment and medications. You can join online and immediately have access to all ATF membership services.
Our purpose is to help Australians affected by thyroid disorders and raise awareness of the importance and benefits of “good thyroid health” through membership of The ATF.
Iodine deficiency has re-emerged in Australia and The ATF raise awareness of the importance of the correct daily intake of iodine during different life stages to support thyroid health and newborn development.
The ATF is recognised as the australian consumer advocacy Organisation for thyroid disorders and iodine deficiency.
As a not for profit organisation with charity status, all donations over $2.00 are tax deductible. Purchase a gold bow or badge from our online shop and support patients with thyroid cancer.

The messaging enforces the importance of thyroid testing for all women contemplating pregnancy and pregnant. Get yourself tested for thyroid disorders to give your baby the best chance at a healthy start to life. 20,000 to 30,000 women each year are at risk of developing thyroid problems during pregnancy, putting the pregnancy and the baby at risk of brain damage.
The World Health Organisation and UNICEF recognise the 'World's No. 1 Reason for Mental Retardation is Iodine Deficiency!' Therefore it is imperative future generations of Australians reach their intended IQ, without it being compromised due to lack of awareness.
